Genpower is a family run business, founded in 2006 by CEO & Owner Roland Llewellin and his wife, Director, Lisa Llewellin. We have achieved year-on-year growth since our inception and operate across the UK with a sourcing, quality control and logistics office in China and a customer experience team in both the UK and Mauritius.
The next phase of growth will see us build partnerships with distributors worldwide as we continue to expand the JCB Tools, Power Tools and Power Equipment business. Closer to home we are excited to launch the Hyundai Home Appliance business in the UK.
2024/25
Key product launches including the JCB Professional Power Tools Range, 56cc Garden Range, Hyundai Products (including Microwaves and a 20V Battery Range), and the successful Black Series Lawnmowers.
Sales milestones included a record single-day sale and strong demand across online platforms such as eBay, Tesco, The Range, TikTok, and Temu. International expansion progressed with new distributors in Poland and India, an agreement to sell Hyundai products in France.
Stronger supply chain integration including direct Amazon warehouse deliveries. Strategic partnerships were also formed with colleges to support trade students and a B2B portal was prepared for launch.

Completed the acquisition of the Greatstar group of companies and obtained the worldwide agreement for JCB Tools, Power Tools and Power Equipment.

2022/23
Brand new 16,000 pallet distribution centre opened in Newport, Gwent. 50+ new consumer products launched along with 3 new websites. £50k donated to the Ukraine Appeal. In 2022, we became the worldwide distributor for JCB Power Equipment.

2021/22
30 new consumer DIY products launched, increased sales with large retailers, new customer service team onboarding and working alongside our team. Racking capacity increased to 5500 pallets and container loading bays added to warehouse. New Hyundai website, new spare parts website. New ERP system implemented. Service & Sales Centre opened in North West.

Big focus on D2C for consumer products. New range of 40/80v cordless garden machinery, robot mower, electric lawnmowers and handheld 2-stroke machines. New range of Cummins powered diesel generators launched. Quality assurance team set up in far east. New range of Industrial screw compressors launched. One tree planted for every machine sold – 135,000 trees planted.

2016/17
The Brexit referendum caused a sharp and unforeseen devaluation in GBP, triggering a chain of events that resulted in the first and only loss making year for the company. This was a year that taught us a lot of lessons and we became leaner and better prepared because of it.
